Hybridization of flowers

Flowers are really important for  the improvement of your island. Unless you want to be stuck at two or three stars forever you need those things everywhere. Unfortunately they might not fit with your island’s aesthetic. If you’re into that sort of thing.

Luckily, what the game does not really mention, is that you can cross-pollinate these things and make cooler colors; primarily blue, black and purple flowers. These can give your town a really awesome look as well as, you guessed it, attract special bugs. For example, as you start getting blue, black and/or purple flowers in your town. you’ll start seeing rarer bugs like the Rajah Brooke’s Birdwing.

People are still discovering color combinations in Animal Crossing: New Horizons as it adds three new flower types. As you experiment with mixing you can discover a ton. Also using Nook Tickets helps a lot because sometimes you’ll just find an island covered in rare flower colors like black tulips and green mums.

Make yourself a nice isolated area, especially one that discourages guests from running through it, and start experimenting. My entire top left sixth of my island is just fenced off gardens to encourage breeding. My goal of having an island of blue, purple, white and pink flowers will be a reality one day.
