The eggs wear out my equipment

See, I’m not one of those people who dislike the fact that equipment break down. It’s sort of exciting and requires me to plan a little better. It teaches me the hubris of using up all my crafting material. Like, I guess I can’t make a new net at the moment because I decided to make twenty couches for some reason. I guess I’m out of stones because I needed my town to have an unexplained burial plot. You know, like you do.

But now I’m trying to catch all the new fish and it seems like half of everything I fish out are eggs. I’ve broken SO many fishing rods. I’m not one of those people who time travel in my game, so I know it’s going to be a good long while before I unlock the invincible golden fishing rod (unless one of ya’ll want to make me one, I’ll except it) and it is so frustrating having my tools break because of this event.

Especially because, as I found out recently, there’s a fishing tournament one day before the event ends. Awesome.

I need a ton of stone but now every rock I hit is dropping three rock eggs equaling less crafting gear. So many times I think I’m digging up a fossil, it’s an earth egg. Every time I try chopping some wood, I get wood eggs. Seriously, how did he hid eggs in rocks and tree trunks?

I get that this is a seasonal event and will be over in less than two weeks but I really hope Nintendo uses their first foray into these events as a learning exercise. Also, seriously, throw Zipper in the ocean.
