Xbox One new games for April 2020: Gears Tactics, Mineraft Dungeons and more

Two more Xbox Game Studios titles are set to release for Xbox One in April: Gears Tactics and Minecraft Dungeons. But there’s more on the way!

Last month saw the release of Ori and the Will of the Wisps and Bleeding Edge, two big exclusives (also coming to PC) from Xbox Game Studios. While Ori has been met with near universal praise, Bleeding Edge, the fast-paced 4v4 team brawler from Team Ninja, has received mixed reception.

Up next for Xbox One, we’ve got Resident Evil 3 and Gears Tactics headlining April’s new games for the console. And there’s a possibility we could also get Minecraft Dungeons, although it still has no exact release date.

Resident Evil 3, of course, is a remake of the classic survival horror game, Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, which released on PlayStation in 1999. I’m pretty sure if you play games, you know what Resident Evil 3 entails, so there’s no real need to get into the plot.

Rather, what makes this remake attractive is the updated visuals and modernized controls. Like Resident Evil 2, Capcom even expanded upon some of the game’s areas, meaning there might be a few surprises as you attempt to escape Raccoon City.

In addition to the main story, Resident Evil 3 is launching with a separate multiplayer mode, Resident Evil: Resistance. In this 4v1 online mode, a team of four players try and survive against a “mastermind” who creates traps, enemies and other dangerous hazards to try and stop them.

Gears Tactics is the other big Xbox One game. From developer Splash Damage, Gears Tactics is a turn-based strategy spinoff of the flagship Xbox series, set 12 years before the first Gears of War. Gears Tactics will be available through Xbox Game Pass at launch.

The last potentially big game for Xbox One in April is Minecraft Dungeons. The action-adventure game is set in the Minecraft universe and inspired by classic dungeon crawlers. Whether alone or with up to four friends, you’ll explore dungeons and fight your way through mobs of enemies in search of treasure and to defeat the evil Arch-Illager. Minecraft Dungeons is also an Xbox Game Pass title.
