How to Get Zarude in Pokémon Sword and Shield
The hunt is on as players everywhere are trying to figure out how to find Zarude, the new Mythical Pokémon in Pokémon Sword and Shield.
Today, on Pokémon Day of all days, The Pokémon company made several new and exciting announcements. They corresponded with an exceptional new update that added the original starter Pokémon to raids so as well as Charmanders, Squirtles and Bulbasaur were now available to everyone. This was really nice for me because, oh my god, I can’t go shiny hunting without someone asking me if I’ve bred any more Kanto babies for them.
They also announced that there were some five-star raids featuring a Level 100 Mewtwo. This raid is a little odd though because the Mewtwo is impossible to capture. I’m fine with this as I have three somehow; but, it still seems weird. On the plus side, making it through the raid alive gives you a TON of useful items from XP candies to Ability Capsules.
The thing that really caught me off guard though was the announcement of a new Mythical Pokémon , Zarude. Much like the similarly named Darude, Zarude took to the internet like a sandstorm. (That joke was for everyone who lived through the 90’s, you’re welcome).
While not a lot of information was given about this horrifying looking monkey, Nintendo dropped a weird sentence with it. Instead of saying when it would be available or what kind of event would be giving this out, they simply said, “Zarude is only available in Pokémon Sword & Shield and cannot be encountered in regular gameplay.”
Ummm, okay. So what does that mean?
Is it hidden somewhere? Am I going to just be wondering the game and have this thing maul me? Is it going to be from some event somewhere? Do I have to look deep inside myself? You can’t just tell me a horrifying monkey with dark tendencies and claws like bananas is out there… somewhere.
So how to we get Zarude? Unfortunately, as of the time of this writing, it looks like all we can do is wait for Zarude to come get us. *shudders* Feel free to share any information you may know regarding finding Zarude in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield in the comments below. We’ll be sure to let you know if we figure it out.
