Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is less than one week away from its official release and looks to offer fans a whole new experience.

Over the years, the Dragon Ball Z franchise has gone through several changes. Some of those changes were for the better, some not so stellar.

The next game DBZ fans have to look forward to in the franchise is the aforementioned Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. Slated to be released on January 17, 2020, the game features several new features, while still borrowing a few elements from previous DBZ releases.

Much like Xenoverse 1 and 2, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will be another role playing-style game, so old school DBZ gaming fans looking for that Budokai nostalgia may want to sit this one out, as this may not be the game for you. With that being said, if it’s a realistic and in-depth experience that you’re yearning for, then Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot certainly won’t be a disappointment.

This game will feature a plethora of creative/innovative ways to level up some of your favorite Z fighter’s skills. One way you can go about doing this is by… eating. This new feature seems to be one of many steps in the new approach that producer Ryosuke Hara was talking about when asked about comparisons of the game.

“I think this is a completely new approach of telling the story of Dragon Ball in a game. In Xenoverce, you’re entering the world of Dragon Ball as an avatar and Fighters is specialized to the combat. I think this time we’re trying to reproduce the feeling of how to live in the world of Dragon Ball Z“,  Hara stated during an interview.

Lastly, although the next-gen consoles are scheduled for launch in late 2020, current-gen gamers need not worry about missing out this one, as Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will be released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on the aforementioned January 17, 2020.
