A new Pokemon Direct was released earlier today, and boy did it have a few surprises!
On January 9, 2020 the first Pokemon Direct of the decade dropped. This Pokemon Direct was jam-packed with some mind-blowing information and announcements. 2020 is going to be a great year for Pokemon, that’s for sure!
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team DX
Over a decade ago Pokemon Mystery Dungeon released, and now it will be reimagined and join the Switch club and coming to Nintendo Switch March 6, 2020. A demo has already been released, so go download it now!
Pokemon Sword and Shield expansion pass
This is the first time Game Freak and Pokemon have ever released an expansion, or DLC, for one of their games. Now, Sword and Shield adventures will continue if you purchase the expansion pass. In June 2020 Isle of Armor will release, and in Fall 2020 Crown Tundra will release. By purchasing this pass you will get access to both these expansions once they release.
They will take place in new Galar locations that function like the wild area and have 200+ new Pokemon that couldn’t be found in Sword and Shield previously, including Galarian Slowpoke. These expansions will feature new rivals, new gigantamax forms, and new character customizations.
In Isle of Armor you will be apprentice under Mustard, a powerful trainer who has been champion before and also mentored Leon, and raising Kubfu, a legendary Pokemon that evolves into Urshifu.
In Crown Tundra you will become the head of an exploration team, going where no one has ever gone before, Pokemon dens! You will also discover Calyrex, a legendary psychic and grass type. Crown Tundra will also feature new co-op features while exploring the Pokemon dens and discovering mythical and legendary Pokemon from past generations.
All Pokemon Sword and Shield games will receive an update permitting the new Pokemon found in the expansion pass to be traded to those that don’t have the pass.
Pokemon Home
Pokemon Home has been in the works for quite some time, but we finally have a release date! This feature will let Pokemon from the Pokemon Bank, and Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu/Eevee to be transferred to Sword and Shield. It will launch February 2020.
Galarian Slowpoke
Now, we already mentioned Galarian Slowpoke previously, but it was announced that with the update that goes live today (January 9, 2020) if you go to Wedgehurst station you have a chance to meet one of the new rivals in Isle of Armor and catch a Galarian Slowpoke!
