Although the PlayStation 5 to launch next year, there are still a handful of highly anticipated PS4 games on the way. Here are the exclusives for 2020.

As was the case with the PlayStation 3, it seems the the PlayStation 4 will hit its peak in its final year. With the PS5 coming out next holiday season, the PS4 will be going out with a bang — probably one even bigger than the PS3.

2020 will see the release of several highly anticipated PlayStation 4 exclusives, including The Last of Us Part II, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Ghosts of Tsushima and more. Here are the known PS4 exclusives coming our way in 2020. Keep in mind, this isn’t every PlayStation 4 exclusive for the year, just some of the ones we feel are the biggest names.

Iron Man VR – February 28

With Iron Man VR, fans of Marvel will be able to step into the shoes of  genius, billionaire, playboy philanthropist Tony Stark and face off against some of Iron Man’s greatest foes. In the game, Tony is attacked by the mysterious Ghost, “a hacker and corporate activist who repurposes old Stark Industries weapons and technology.”

Final Fantasy VII Remake – March 3

Is there a game in 2020 more anticipated than the remake of Final Fantasy VII? This remake of the beloved classic probably needs no introduction, but it’s worth pointing out that this won’t be the complete game as you played it back in PlayStation in 1997. While it will have the length of a modern full game, Final Fantasy VII Remake is being released in episodic installments. This will be the first part of the epic adventure.

Nioh 2

Though it’s a sequel to 2017’s game, Nioh 2 is actual a prequel in terms of its story (kind of how like Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom is a sequel prequel to Raiders of the Lost Ark). In any case, the Dark Souls-inspired action role-playing game will be released on March 13.

The Last of Us Part II – May 29

The highly anticipated sequel to Naughty Dog’s post-apocalyptic action-adventure, The Last of Us Part II takes place five years after Ellie and Joel’s original adventure. Naughty Dog has kept a tight-lid on TLoU Part II, releasing just a few gameplay segments and glimpses of what looks like a gritty and brutal narrative as Ellie “embarks on a relentless journey to carry out justice and find closure” following a violent event.

Ghost of Tsushima – Summer 2020

Sucker Punch’s Ghosts of Tsushima still doesn’t have a release date and for a while I wasn’t even sure if it was coming to PlayStation 4, or if they would just push it back for the PS5. In any case, it’s set to arrive next summer. Set on Tsushima Island in 1274, you’ll play as the last samurai and explore a large open world without any guidance.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon – January 16 (Japan), 2020 (WW)

Sony is kicking off the year with Yakuza: Like a Dragon, the eighth main installment in the Yakuza franchise. Yakuza: Like a Dragon is changing up the formula a bit, introducing turn-based combat, a new playable protagonist and taking the action to the Yokohama district of Isezaki Ijincho.

As an honorable mention, I feel like I should bring up Godfall. Even though it’s not coming to the PlayStation 4, it has already been confirmed as one of the first games for PlayStation 5.
