The Outer Worlds

The Outer Worlds review - companion guide
Obsidian Entertainment /

The developers behind the post-apocalyptic open-world game, Fallout: New Vegas, are back. Obsidian has been purchased by Microsoft, but The Outer Worlds was published by a third-party because the deal was made before the purchase. The Outer Worlds launched into Game Pass, making the science fiction open-world game easily playable for Xbox owners.

The Outer Worlds certainly looks like it was developed by a previous Fallout developer. That is a good thing because the most recent Fallout games have fallen flat. The Outer Worlds takes a different direction, however. The world or worlds you explore are lively and colorful. Plus, the character and story are engaging.

Resident Evil 2 Remake

It doesn’t even seem like Resident Evil 2 released this year because it has been so long since January. Capcom has recreated the world of Raccoon City and the festering creatures who inhabit its borders. The original Resident Evil 2, released in 1998. The remake was remade entirely from the ground up. On the Xbox One X, the game is absolutely stunning. Capcom has done a fantastic job of creating a stunning and scary video game.

Resident Evil 2 brings back the third-person horror genre as the player has the option to play as Leon Kennedy or Claire Redfield. These two characters, along with many others, have been re-imagined and placed in this horrific world. The game is also not a complete remake because there are new story elements, characters, and gameplay features. If you haven’t played this game yet, then pick it up during the holiday season.
