Best Xbox One games of 2019
By Bryson Hile
This year was not full of Xbox One exclusive titles, but there are a number of third party games players can enjoy.
The Xbox platform has been lacking in exclusive titles for some time. It is one of the primary reasons the Xbox One has fallen behind the PS4. However, Microsoft is gearing up for a slew of first-party titles. Just last year, they purchased a handful of new studios and created a brand new quadruple A studio known as The Initiative.
These newly acquired studios will allow Microsoft to pave the way for a better platform. For this year, Microsoft had two first-party exclusives: Crackdown 3 and Gears 5. Gears 5 was a full course meal with a lot of great content to chew on while Crackdown 3 was a “severely outdated sandbox title.” It has not been a good year for Xbox when it comes to games.
The ecosystem of the Xbox is thriving. The services the platform is offering are fantastic. Game Pass is the prominent feature on the console or really any gaming platform. Game Pass Ultimate extends that charity to PC and Xbox Live. Game Pass is full of great games for players to check out for only $9.99 a month. Here are the best Xbox games from 2019.
Gears 5
Since we already mentioned Gears 5 already, it is best to get it out of the way early. Gears 5 continues the story of the new generation of Gears. They are on a mission to find out Kait’s past and what her lineage has to do with the new threat known as the Swarm. The cast of characters Gears 5 provides to the player is diverse and likable.
Their relationships are explored throughout the game, which causes a major decision to be made near the end. This decision is huge and will greatly affect the rest of the series moving forward. If you have an Xbox One X, then you will find that this is the best looking Gears of War game to date. Additional weapons and a slew of online game modes make this a must-play Xbox One game.
