Pokémon Go’s holiday event is coming soon. Which new ice types have been released, and what awesome bonuses can you benefit from over the weeklong event?

Pokémon Go‘s holiday event will run from Dec. 24 at 12am to Jan. 1 at 11:59pm. That gives you 9 days to reap all the benefits from this new event. But what are the benefits? There are a lot of them.

Certain Pokémon will be in costume. This year we’ll see Pikachu, Raichu, and Pichu wearing beanies. There will also be a Stantler wearing bells making its first time appearance in the game.

Ice types will be more abundant during this time, including Sneasel, Delibird, Snorunt, and more! For the first time ever, Cubchoo will also be available.

Alolan types will also hatch from eggs more frequently, including Sandshrew and Vulpix. Pichu and Stantler wearing bells will also be hatching from 7km eggs.

Beanie Raichu and bells Stantler will appear in 2-star raids for the length of the event.

You can also use Glacial Lure Modules to collect more ice types. Cryogonal makes it first time appearance in Pokémon Go when this lure is placed.

There will also be event-exclusive Field Research that will give you rewards and the chance to encounter a Pikachu wearing a beanie.

During this time, Team GO Rocket has also captured more shadow Pokémon. You’ll be able to save Delibird and possibly others.

As for shiny Pokémon, you might encounter a shiny Stantler wearing bells, or a shiny Snover.

There will also be winter-themed avatar items in the shop during the event. You could purchase a Stantler Sweater or Headband or a Beanie Hat to match your beanie’d Pokémon!

This event also features lots of good bonuses. You can open twice as many Gifts per day and carry twice as many Gifts in your bag. You’re also guaranteed one single-use Incubator per day. You’ll receive this Incubator at the first PokéStop you spin everyday.

From Dec. 24 at 12am to Dec. 25 at 11:59pm there will be 2x catch Candy and 2x transfer Candy. Make sure you’re catching as much as you can so you can level up and evolve those new Pokémon!
