A complete guide to Pokémon Go’s evolution event and raid day
If you play Pokémon Go, you know that one of the most annoying things is waiting around for a Sinnoh stone. For the next few days, you don’t have to.
Pokémon Go’s latest event, the evolution event, started yesterday, Dec. 5 and will run until Dec. 12 at 1pm. During that time there will be new field research, and tons of features that will help you finally evolve the Roselia or Onix of your dreams.
The event features an increased spawn rate of Pokémon that require an item to involve. This will include Onix, Eevee, Roselia, and Burmy.
There will also be special raids featuring Pokémon that have interesting evolutions. You could get a Lickitung, Scyther, Togetic, or Ralts. There will also be an increase in 2km eggs that could hatch into Tyrogue, Feebas, Burmy, or Happiny. Shiny Burmys will also be spawning for the first time.
However, the most exciting part will come from the field research itself. The rewards from the research will be items to help you evolve all the Pokémon you catch during the week.
The special event research that will take place during the event has tasks like, “catch 10 Horsea” which gives you a Dragon Scale and, “hatch 7 eggs” which will give you the ever coveted Sinnoh Stone. You can view the whole list of tasks here.
This event also features some awesome bonuses. Lure modules will last for an hour instead of a half an hour for the entire event. You will also gain 2x XP when you evolve your Pokémon, and have a higher chance of getting evolutions items from raids.
In addition to the evolution event, there will also be an evolution event raid day. It will take place this Saturday, Dec. 7 from 11am to 2pm in your local time zone.
During this time you will be able to encounter Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle in 1-star raids, Ivysaur, Charmeleon, and Wartortle in 2-star raids, and Venasaur, Charizard, and Blastoise in 4-star raids. In addition, you will also be able to get up to five extra raid passes from spinning gym stops. However, you cannot hold more than one raid pass at a time.
This is definitely not an event to miss. It lasts the next 5 days, so you have time to get through those events and evolve some awesome Pokémon.
