Marble It Up: Mayhem!

The simplicity of marbles is a beautiful thing. But make no mistake about it, there is nothing simplistic about Marble It Up: Mayhem!, a platforming game featuring multiple game modes all revolving around a marble.

Marble It Up: Mayhem! has a single-player campaign in which you must guide a marble through some wild stage designs filled with “dangerous obstacles, mind-bending paths and shifting gravity.” These colorful, vibrant stages are each uniquely designed and offer some difficult platforming.

As a change of pace, you can also opt for the more chaotic multiplayer modes.

It’s the simplistic nature of a marble’s design that allows Marble It Up: Mayhem! to get creative with its offerings. Global and friend leaderboards, ghost races, hidden trophies and more.

Takeshi and Hiroshi

Takeshi and Hiroshi is definitely an intriguing new addition to Apple Arcade in which you play as 14-year-old Takeshi, a game designer to-be and older brother to Hiroshi, who always wants to play the next chapter of the game.

As the game that Takeshi is making is still in development, you sort of create the adventure on the fly. Basically, you’re a dungeon master, spawning enemies as Hiroshi progresses through the levels.

But your goal isn’t to defeat Hiroshi, it’s to increase his enjoyment of the game. You must carefully balance creating a challenging game while also preventing him from losing. So you’ll want to spawn enemies that make it difficult, but not too challenging so that Hiroshi can’t overcome it.

It’s definitely a unique type of gameplay mechanic that’s definitely worth checking out.
