Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook has replaced Melvin Gordon as one of the 50 X-Factor Superstars in Madden 20.

In his first season as a full-time starter, Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook is proving himself to be among the best at his position.

In just the first six games this year, Cook has carried the ball 108 times for 583 yards (5.4 yds/car) and a whopping six touchdowns. He’s already nearing his career high for carries (133) and has already surpassed his touchdown total from the previous two seasons combined (4).

A superstar on the field week in and week out, Cook finally became an X-Factor in Madden 20 with this week’s roster update. Replacing Chargers RB Melvin Gordon, who sat out the first quarter of the season due to contract issues, Cook now has the X-Factor ability “First One Free,” which grants a high fakeout rate on his next juke, spin, or hurdle. He has also been awarded Superstar Abilities “Juke Box,” which provides faster juke animations, and “Inside Zone Guru,” which grants stronger blocking on inside zone plays.

While Cook finally received X-Factor status in Madden 20, not everyone is satisfied with his in-game rating. Despite being fourth in rushing yards and touchdowns so far this year, Cook is only the 7th-best running back in Madden 20 with an overall of 89. The Minnesota Vikings took aim at this disservice with a tweet that pointed out Cook’s shockingly low strength.

Cook wasn’t the only player awarded X-Factor status in Madden 20 this week. Green Bay Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander was awarded the “Shutdown” X-Factor Ability, which provides tighter coverage and more INTS on contested catches. He replaces Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who is out for the year with an elbow injury.

Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones is also a new X-Factor player with the “Fearmonger” Ability, which increases his chance to pressure the quarterback while engaged with a blocker.

This week’s update also adjusts the superstar abilities for a number of players. These changes only apply to Front End rosters for Online head-to-head games and will not impact already existing Franchise leagues or new Franchise leagues created with the “Pre-Season Roster” option.
