NLDS: Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Washington Nationals

The MLB The Show 19 sim battle between Los Angeles and Washington was much more of a battle than St. Louis vs. Atlanta, as this series went five games. In the first game, Clayton Kershaw was his usual dominant self, striking out nine and finishing with a 0.00 ERA in a complete game effort. This resulted in a shutout of the Nationals, 4-0.

The Dodgers hit a combined eight (!) home runs throughout the series, with Joc Pederson smacking three of them. ironically, the Dodgers didn’t get a single homer in the final game but saw a great game from Max Muncy who had three hits.

Mr. 99 overall, Cody Bellinger enjoyed his share of hits as well throughout the series, with a home run included in there also.  Justin Turner also had a terrific series, with three home runs to his credit, including a double and an RBI in the series-clinching game.

The Nationals enjoyed some great pitching performances from their dynamic duo of Max Scherzer and Stephen Strasburg, as they combined for 16 strikeouts. However, the lineup couldn’t do enough to help, as Adam Eaton and Anthony Rendon carried most of the bating load, combining for 12 hits in the series.

Overall, it was a seesaw series that the Dodgers managed to have a good grasp on. If they manage to capture the pennant, then they’d be on their way to their third straight World Series.
