1. Skate City

Growing up, the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series was one of my absolute favorites. If it had not been for my undeniable laziness, agressive shyness, and lackluster physique, I might’ve taken up skateboarding as a hobby. While Skate City doesn’t exactly elicit those same feelings, it does provide an extremely comfortable and engaging experience, especially on mobile. The controls are, thankfully, simple and the environments speak perfectly to the ethos of skateboarding culture. It’s the type of game that you’ll love to play on a commute.

2. Exit the Gungeon

One of the best games of 2016 Enter the Gungeon, has itself a sequel, of sorts. Instead of rummaging through floors of an ancient dungeon, you’ll be trying to escape! While the game doesn’t play quite as well as the original, Exit the Gungeon is still a stellar experience. It largely retains the personality of the original with plenty of collectibles, a strong sense of humor, and that addicting nature of wanting to just make it a little bit farther with each run.
