#3.  Life is Strange

Aside from the mystery aspect, Man of Medan is all about choice and consequences. One thing it really doesn’t offer is the chance to rewind your choices and set things right. But maybe that makes things even worse?

Life is Strange offers both a deep examination of ripple effects made by choices (especially when you change the outcome to what may seem more favorable at the time, but later turns out to have massive implications you couldn’t possibly have foreseen) and a cool supernatural mystery element as well.

In Life is Strange, you play as Max, a girl with the ability to rewind time. Of course, this sounds like the perfect ability. You can undo any mistake. But as mentioned sometimes pulling at that thread of one mistake leads to other bigger mistakes and larger consequences.

While it’s more about learning what is the preferred outcome to move the story forward rather than making a choice and then dealing with consequences with the story moving forward regardless, Life is Strange does offer different outcomes depending on the choices you make. It’s really cool to see the cause and effect play out in different ways. If you like a game that is all about choice and consequence, definitely give Life is Strange a try.
