NBA 2K20 announced some additional historic teams to their ever-growing list of legendary squads. We rank the six new teams to see who may be the best of the bunch.

NBA 2K20  has been rolling out some new features over the last several weeks including gameplay adjustments and WNBA teams. Now, they have announced some fresh new historic teams including the 2015-16 Cleveland Cavaliers and the 2009-10 Portland Trailblazers among others.

Other teams include the 02-03 Phoenix Suns, 06-07 Washington Wizards, 13-14 Clippers and 13-14 Spurs. When you combine each of these team’s rosters, you have a ridiculous amount of talent.

The Cavs, of course, have LeBron James and Kyrie Irving as well as Kevin Love and solid role players like J.R. Smith and Tristan Thomspon. Talk about a well-balanced attack.

A team like the Blazers were also loaded, featuring Brandon Roy (who makes his historic team debut in NBA 2K. He was on the Blazers All-Time team in NBA 2K19 but never a historic roster) and LaMarcus Aldridge.

That team also had Marcus Camby and Andre Miller, who was an elite passer in his day. You should be pleased about that squad if you’re a Blazers fan.

The Wizards had three captains steering their ship in 2006, with Gilbert Arenas, Antawn Jamison and Caron Butler wearing the hats. One thing I remember about those teams was how explosive they were.

Arenas and Butler could jump out of the gym, while Jamison was an all-around offensive threat. He also a stretch big which was rare around that time, with Rasheed Wallace being one of the only other guys who can stretch the floor like that.

The 2002-03 Suns also had a “big 3” of sorts with Stephon Marbury, Shawn Marion and a very young Amare Stoudemire on the squad. They weren’t a team that would kill you with outside shooting but came at you with a classic, gritty style of basketball.

A combination of playmaking, tough defense and rebounding are what made that team stand out. They could make for a fun team to use against today’s sharpshooting teams in NBA 2K20.

The Clippers have one of the deeper teams of the bunch. Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan Jamal Crawford, J.J. Reddick, and Darren Collison all averaged double-digit points. At least three of the four guys can fire from long range, while Griffin will throw it down with the best of them in NBA 2K20.

Not to mention, Paul and Crawford can devastate opponents with crossovers (Crawford in particular). So it’s not just the current Clippers roster that’s deadly, folks.

Last but not least, the Spurs, which had the iconic trio of Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginobili, while also having some dude named Kawhi Leonard. You can argue that this is the most balanced group of the bunch.

They have a little shooting, a lot of defending, and some other things as well. This team might hit you right in the feels though if you remember watching Duncan, Parker, and Ginobili growing up.

This team reminded us that it was the end of an era. Now that all of that is done, let’s go rank these squads of yesteryear.
