Detective Pikachu SDCC activation invites guests into immersive world

In celebration of the forthcoming Digital and Blu-Ray release, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment is transporting viewers to the fictitious world of Ryme City via an unforgettable Detective Pikachu experience!

This July, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment is giving Pokemon fans the opportunity of a lifetime through its immersive San Diego Comic-Con 2019 activation celebrating the upcoming Digital and Blu-Ray release of its breakout film Detective Pikachu.

Located outside The Omni Hotel, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment brings the magic of Detective Pikachu to San Diego via an activation complete with recreations of iconic sets from the film, film props, a Pikachu themed mirror maze and the chance to win some must-have swag.

Welcome to Ryme City

The fun begins as visitors catch a train out to the Ryme City via a special Pikachu inspired subway complete with fuzzy yellow seats! Upon arriving to their destination, fans are given the chance to wonder through the Ryme City marketplace where they’ll encounter the lovable and life-size Psyduck.

Pulled straight from the film, the small-scale set recreations make for the perfect social media moments and set the stage for the rest of the activation.

Unearthing Artifacts from the Film

Once you’ve wondered through the Ryme City marketplace, it’s time to catch up with Mew-Two who is framed above a series of displays containing actual props from Detective Pikachu. Although the room lighting may make it difficult to snap the perfect shot, there’s something quite special in getting to see the props in person – something which all Pokemon fans are sure to appreciate.

An Infinity for Pikachu

After getting a look at the various props and set recreations, it’s time to test your navigation skills through the activation’s mirrored infinity room! With countless Pikachu tails dangling from the ceiling, fans must use their wits to make their way through the miniature mirror maze. Fortunately, those who manage to sort their way out, are greeted with an unforgettable surprise…

Meet & Greet with Pikachu & Free Detective Pikachu Swag!

Upon emerging from the infinity room, it’s time to snap an Instagrammable image with an oversized Pikachu – an image which is sure to make you the envy of all fellow Pokemon fanatics! Before you go, don’t forget to also spin the oversized prize wheel to see what piece of exclusive Comic-Con swag you get to take him from the activation!

Needless to say, the Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Detective Pikachu is an fan-driven activation which delivers so much more than a few social media worthy moments. It’s an activation which allows fans the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of Ryme City while also getting to have a bit of fun through the activation’s interactive infinity room, photo ops and prize wheel.
