Look, Bayonetta 3 isn’t coming out this year. Honestly, it might not even be coming out next year since, at this point, all we have seen is a logo. Who knows when we might see the shape-shifting bullet witch at this point?

However, if you want an extremely anime over-the-top action game with a crazy story by Platinum Games from the creator of Bayonetta the Nintendo Switch still has you covered in 2019 with Astral Chain.

Astral Chain has the potential to be the sleeper hit of 2019. It’s not getting the same attention as Nintendo’s biggest titles or other out there Japanese-developed games like Death Stranding but with its colorful visuals, great-looking action and unique premise it absolutely should.

In Astral Chain Earth is being invaded by demons from another dimension. You are an officer who fights these demons, but you need to capture these same demons in order to fight them. Though the whole story won’t be told in trailers, there are hints of a greater conspiracy at work and questions as to who the real villain is, etc.

The story is most likely enjoyable nonsense but what Platinum Games is known for is games with a nonsense plot, insane action, and amazing visuals and Astral Chain looks to continue that when it releases on the Nintendo Switch in just about two months on August 30.
