Pokemon Go: Spark tasks unlock candy bonus week

Pokemon Go trainers may want to give their Team Instinct friends a pat on the back for their leader’s efforts have unlocked bonuses.

During the Pokemon Go Fest Chicago event, trainers from all teams completed tasks from Team Instinct Leader Spark. Professor Willow tasked Spark, along with Team Valor’s Candela and Team Mystic’s Blanche with rallying trainers to complete research tasks around the world and at Pokemon Go Fest.

Apparently Willow’s motivation in having team leaders conduct this little exercise was to help prepare them for incoming in-game threats.

It was quite an accomplishment and hats off to trainers who braved weather conditions and took the time to complete the tasks.

Spark’s challenge research tasks consisted of the following:

• Pokémon GO Fest Chicago event attendees—Complete 1 million research tasks.
• Team Instinct—Complete 15 million research tasks globally.
• Team Valor—Complete 15 million research tasks globally.
• Team Mystic—Complete 15 million research tasks globally.

Trainers from across the world can now expect the following bonuses: half distance, one rare candy per raid, two-times hatch candy reward bonus and two-times catch candy. Trainers can expect these bonuses to run from June 18 at 1 p.m. to June 25 at 1 p.m.

Besides the bonuses, trainers can have an opportunity to catch Raikou in raids for a short period of time at a later date. Trainers may have a chance to encounter a shiny Raikou in a raid.

This is great news for Pokemon Go who are looking forward to some extra bonuses during their next week of Pokemon hunting.

But the mission is far from over trainers. There are still two more sets of challenges to complete during the summer. Below are the upcoming challenges.

CANDELA’S XP RESEARCH CHALLENGE

Challenge Date and Time

July 4 at 1 a.m. to July 7 at 9 a.m. PDT (GMT −7) – From start to finish of Pokémon GO Fest Dortmund.

Challenge Research Tasks

• Pokémon GO Fest Dortmund event attendees—Complete 1 million research tasks to unlock 3× Catch XP
• Team Instinct—Complete 15 million research tasks globally to unlock 1-hour Lucky Eggs
• Team Valor—Complete 15 million research tasks globally to unlock 3× Hatch XP
• Team Mystic—Complete 15 million research tasks globally to unlock 2× Raid XP
  Reward Bonus Date + Time

All successfully unlocked bonuses will run from July 9 at 1 p.m. until July 16 at 1 p.m. PDT.

Unlock all the above bonuses, and Entei will be available in raids July 14 at a later time (time to be announced later). There’s also a chance trainers will encounter a shiny Entei.

BLANCHE’S STARDUST RESEARCH CHALLENGE

Challenge Date and Time

Aug. 5 at 6 p.m. to Aug. 12 at 1 a.m. PDT (GMT −7) – From start to finish of Pokémon GO Fest Yokohama.

Challenge Research Tasks

• Pokémon GO Fest Yokohama event attendees—Complete 2 million research tasks to unlock 3× Catch Stardust
• Team Instinct—Complete 25 million research tasks globally to unlock guaranteed 3,000 Stardust per raid
• Team Valor—Complete 25 million research tasks globally to unlock 3× Hatch Stardust
• Team Mystic—Complete 25 million research tasks globally to unlock 1-hour Star Pieces
  Reward Bonus Date + Time

All successfully unlocked bonuses will run from Aug. 13 at 1 p.m. until Aug. 20 at 1 p.m. PDT.

Unlock all the above bonuses, and Suicune will be available in raids on Saturday, Aug. 17 at a time to be later announced. Like the other two legendary dogs, trainers might come across a shiny Suicune.
