What we will see: Luigi’s Mansion 3

It’s so great that Mario’s much more interesting brother, Luigi has broken off and gotten his series of fantastic games that are so different from the Mario games. The Luigi’s Mansion games are just incredibly fun and clever, and while in some sense it’s a shame we are only up to three with a new entry coming out this year, but that makes each game all the more special.

We’ve seen only about 30 seconds of footage last year concerning Luigi’s Mansion 3, but you kind of know what you are in for with these games. You run around a mansion (or several), sucking up ghosts and money and other things with your Poltergust vacuum-like device. On paper, it might not sound that interesting, but in addition to the capturing of ghosts feeling incredibly satisfying, there’s a whole bunch of secrets to uncover, and the game just always looks and feel great.

We’ll undoubtedly see more of Luigi’s latest ghost-busting adventure during Nintendo’s E3 2019 video presentation. In addition to the expected mechanics from the series, I’d be willing to bet it’s one of the few games that takes advantage of the unique features of the Nintendo Switch. You might have to use HD rumble, amiibo, motion controls, and more to discover all the secrets and catch every single ghost in the game. I can’t wait to see more of Luigi’s Mansion 3 at E3 2019.
