E3 2019: Bethesda predictions, rumors and expectations
What we might see: More Nintendo Switch Ports
Bethesda has been a big supporter of the Nintendo Switch. We got Skyrim, Wolfenstein and Doom all on Nintendo’s hot little handheld and they all run pretty well and sold well too. Support from Bethesda doesn’t seem to be slowing down either as both Doom Eternal and Wolfenstein: Youngblood are coming to the Switch as well.
But why stop there? If anything, the Nintendo Switch also seems to be a good home for older games, so why not dig into the back catalog and put out some older releases on the system as well? Port the Dishonored series, port Fallout 3 or Fallout: New Vegas (or both). Port The Evil Within or Prey. Hell, port the first Rage. Port everything really.
In all seriousness, Bethesda has a large number of excellent single-player games that didn’t sell very well, and the Nintendo Switch has been a great opportunity for games to find new audiences. It just seems like a good fit for at least some of those properties assuming you can actually make a mostly intact version that runs well. Everything on Switch, right?
I actually think we will see some news on Bethesda Switch ports at some point during E3. It’s just possible that may be saved for Nintendo’s own presentation or just even shown off during the Treehouse sessions. There’s a decent chance we’ll see it during Bethesda’s presentation as well.
