The Pokemon press conference last night revealed a lot of new upcoming Pokemon content, here are some takeaways from what we saw.

Pokemon held a big press conference last night which focused on their business strategy over the course of the next year. There were some big announcements here, although they may not have been what everyone was expecting. Here are some key takeaways from the Pokemon press conference.

New Detective Pikachu game

Detective Pikachu started as a 3DS spin off game and was then brought to life as the first ever live action Pokemon film. Now, Nintendo is releasing a new game based off of the idea for the Nintendo Switch. There are not a whole lot of details yet, but it looks like this is going to be the conclusion to Detective Pikachu.

Pokemon Home

Pokemon Home is perhaps the most exciting announcement for people who truly wish to catch them all. This will be an app for Apple and Android that will make use of the cloud to store Pokemon. Players will be able to transfer Pokemon from their 3DS, Pokemon Bank, Pokemon GO, Pokemon Let’s GO, and the upcoming Sword and Shield games. Players will also be able to trade Pokemon with other players remotely via the app. Pokemon Home is scheduled for release in 2020.

Pokemon Sleep

Pokemon was pretty cryptic about this one, and did not reveal too much, but it seems like this will be an app that focuses on promoting healthy sleep schedules. It looks like they are working with Niantic and Nintendo to make the app, meaning this will probably have something to do with Pokemon GO as well. It is scheduled for release in 2020, so we will surely hear more in the coming months.

Pokemon Masters

There was a short gameplay trailer that came along with this announcement, and it looks like this will be a mobile game that features notable characters from the core series. The trailer showed a 3v3 Pokemon battle along with characters such as Cynthia, Red, Brock, and Misty. This game is set to release during 2019.
