Boston Uprising

Seed: 8th (4-3 record)

Quarterfinal Opponent: Vancouver Titans (1st Seed)

Match Time: Thursday, March 21 8 p.m. PT/11 p.m. ET

Given everything that’s happened off-field for the Uprising, they’ve done pretty well. Support Minseok “Aimgod” Kwon and DPS Kelsey “ColourHex” Birse have been the standouts even as the squad as a whole is nothing impressive. Tank Lucas “NotE” Meissner simply isn’t putting up the numbers he was last year, and the loss of some key supports certainly hasn’t helped.

Outside of the aforementioned ColourHex and Aimgod, no one has really stepped up for this team in their time of need and pushed through. They’ve yet to secure a signature win for themselves despite multiple opportunities, although they have given another franchise their signature win; Boston was the first team to lose to the Shanghai Dragons. The Dragons won two matches afterward, but you never forget your first.

Going up against Vancouver’s going to be a tough task, especially that team is on a roll right with this current meta. They’ll play again April 21, and the meta will change by then, but the here and now is for the money. If you’re the betting type, Vancouver’s winning this particular quarterfinal.

The Uprising are 1-2 against stage playoff teams. They lost to the Excelsior 2-1 in Week 1, lost 3-1 to Seoul and beat Toronto 3-1 in Week 3.
