Pokemon GO still has the Lunar New Year event running, and plans to have a special event for Valentine’s Day later this week along with community day.

It’s another Monday and with that another new week full of Pokemon related news and events. Last week was highlighted by the beginning of the Lunar New Year event in Pokemon GO, and the release of the new Pokemon TCG set, Pokemon Sun and Moon Team Up. For this week, it looks like we have another exciting week ahead of us in Pokemon GO.

The Pokemon GO Lunar New Year event is still going on. This event includes increased spawns to Pokemon related to animals from the Chinese Zodiac, featuring the chance to catch the shiny version of the psychic Pokemon Spoink for year of the pig. The event also features the opportunity to get a shiny version of Meltan from the Mystery Box obtainable by transferring a Pokemon to Pokemon Let’s Go on the Nintendo Switch.

Pokemon GO has also teased at a Valentine’s Day event which would be later this week. This event would be the third consecutive Valentine’s Day event for Pokemon GO and will likely feature Pokemon that are pink, as the last couple of Valentine’s Day events have. This should prove to be a great opportunity for players to go out and get candy for Pokemon they still need, or to set up a Pokemon GO date with that special someone!

The augmented reality app requires players to look for Pokemon in their immediate surroundings with the use of GPS and internet services turning the whole world into a Pokemon region map. The hugely popular app has seen Nintendo shares soar following its limited release in the US, Australia and New Zealand on July 6.

This coming Saturday is also the February community day, according to GO Hub, featuring Swinub. Between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. EST Swinub will have increased spawn rates and have an increased chance of being shiny. Mamoswine, the final evolution of Swinub, will also be added to the game during this event. Any Mamoswine evolved before 6:00 p.m. EST will have a special move. This community day will also grant bonus stardust upon catching, as well as a chance to get up to five Sinnoh stones from PVP battles. These stones will be necessary for evolving Piloswine into Mamoswine.
