6. Fire Emblem: Three Houses
Developer: Intelligent Systems
Platform(s): Nintendo Switch
Release Date: Spring 2019
Speaking of highly anticipated Nintendo titles, Fire Emblem looks to make its return to home consoles for the first time since 2007 with the 2019 release of Fire Emblem: Three Houses. First announced back in January 2017, gamers have been waiting a long time for the latest entry in this popular tactical RPG series. Considering the history this series has with handheld devices, we’re excited to see how Nintendo and Intelligent Systems plan to take advantage of the Nintendo Switch hardware.
Based on what we saw at E3 2018, Three Houses definitely makes a huge jump in terms of graphics compared to previous Fire Emblem games. Battles not only look much more impressive but operate on a much grander scale. For the first time, troops will support your units in battle. Dungeon crawling makes a return in Three Houses, and it seems like players are given a little more freedom to explore the world than in past games.
Overall, we don’t know much about the gameplay or story of Fire Emblem: Three Houses just yet, but it shows potential to be another strong RPG for the Nintendo Switch. Look for an upcoming Nintendo Direct to reveal more info. In the meantime, we can’t wait until this upcoming spring!
