Azor The Lawbringer is laying down the law
Reviewing Azor The Lawbringer card in Rivals of Ixalan. Azor The Lawbringer is laying down the law when it comes to playing against him.
Reviewing Azor The Lawbringer card in Rivals of Ixalan will be fairly straightforward as there is very little rules text to interpret.
With Rivals of Ixalan now available to the public for purchasing, we can now start to ponder which creatures are going to surprise us and be good, or let us down and be bad.
Azor, the Lawbringer is a gold card that means it has a multi-colored casting cost. The cost is two colorless, two blue and two white. Now I wouldn’t windmill slam this card during a draft, but for sealed tournaments, constructed play and Commander, this is a great card.
The rules text on this card, like stated before, would only really be useful in those three different formats. With that being said I would only grab this card if you REALLY think it would help your deck. I personally would only stick to using it in those three formats.

Just like in Ixalan, Rivals does not have many cards that mesh well together in the colors of white and blue. Separate, these colors are good but not together, and since this is the only gold card that shares these colors, I would not want to draft that color combo.
The abilities of this card are really good, but if your draft a white and blue deck built around this card, I don’t see you winning many games. Also, there are not many mana sinks, so that is the one advantage to this card. It gives you something to pour mana into if there is nothing else you can do.
As we continue reviewing Azor The Lawbringer card in Rivals of Ixalan and the ability it has, I can only describe it as very powerful, and if combined with the right spells, it can continue to wreak havoc on the battlefield. If you can continually bounce him from your hand to the battlefield, or exile and bring him back, you are going to win most of the games you play.
Each time you bounce or blink him during your turn that forces your opponents to not be able to cast instant or sorcery spells during their turn.
I hope this helps you in regards to being able to determine how to effectively use Azor The Lawbringer card in games of Magic the Gathering.
