#7.  Indivisible (PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC)

If we are going strictly on looks, Indivisible might be one of my most anticipated games this year period. The game is just gorgeously animated from what we have seen so far, featuring a bevy of incredible-looking hand drawn-2D sprites in 2D backgrounds.

But topping off that great animated style is what looks like a super compelling blend of Metroid-esque gameplay along with some really intriguing-looking party battles. Let’s face it, walking around a traditional RPG world can get a little dull. Blending it with a little 2D traversal and platforming action makes sure it will rarely get boring (although I hope there is some sort of fast travel element).

From just watching footage of the game, it’s a little hard to tell exactly how combat flows, but the fighting game roots of the developers show through. There will be a number of smaller RPGs coming to various systems in 2018, and in my opinion, Indivisible has already established itself as one of the top ones to keep an eye on as it may stand shoulder to shoulder with any of the bigger ones if it plays as good as it looks.
