8. Ghost in the Shell | Nexon

Ghost in the Shell is by far one of the most beloved cyberpunk franchises out there. The world the franchise takes place in was outstandingly done, so much so that the franchise has seen a lot of life in recent years, from movies to new anime seasons to multiple video games. The one thing the series hasn’t done? Basked in the glory of a Battle Royale title. The clever idea behind it is simple. Players play as operatives for the Japanese government in training.

Their deployment is through a training simulator, one that allows their ghosts to prepare for combat and ultimately work their way to the last man standing. Just like in Ghost in the Shell, various items such as optic camo, sniper rifles, assault rifles, and even ‘Hacks’ would be available via item pick-ups. This even includes chaff grenades in the place of flashbangs or stun grenades. The only downside about this move? Nexon has had a rough time with the Ghost in the Shell franchise after shutting down their free-to-play title Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex – First Assault last month. Let’s just hope if Nexon does make this move, we don’t see Tachikoma’s in the field.
