PUBG is a smash-hit title that is now available on Windows PC and Xbox One with a mobile version currently in the works.

Because of PUBG, we’re beginning to see quite a few Battle Royale game modes emerge. Titles such as Paladins by Hi-Rez and Fortnite by Epic Games have jumped onboard, and there has even been an article stating that Metal Gear Survive could absolutely benefit from this type of gameplay.

Since the Battle Royale style genre is growing popular, we can ramp up our anticipation for what the mode has to offer and what franchises we hope will jump in on it. Luckily for us,  the possibilities are nearly endless, and we can only hope to see it grow as developers continue to evolve the mode on their own. So let’s take a look at ten franchises that could benefit from a Battle Royale mode of their own.

10. StarCraft | Blizzard Entertainment

StarCraft is well-known for its unique approach to combat, the creativity that drives it and ultimately the large-scale skirmishes that players experience in a tactical-format. However, at one point, Blizzard Entertainment had been working on a third-person StarCraft game titled StarCraft Ghost, which had been expected to launch on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Unfortunately, the game would see a cancellation on September 23, 2014.

With Battle Royale games continually growing in popularity and the demand for them constantly growing, now would be a perfect time for Blizzard to consider creating their own Battle Royale title. The best way to do it would be to focus on Terran units such as the “Ghosts” as they load into a combat simulator and scavenge or StarCraft themed gear, weapons, and consumables while eliminating one another. The upside here? Nothing could really go wrong with a third-person shooter in the StarCraft universe.
