I don’t want to admit it, but the grand finale World of Warcraft expansion announcement at BlizzCon2017 this past weekend has me wanting to resubscribe to the game again. And honestly, it’s not that the coming Alliance v. Horde story is shaking things up in a noticeable way. But between the hints of what’s to come in the PTR data, the system improvements they’ve shown so far, and my expectations of Blizzard, Battle for Azeroth has all the makings of a solid expansion.

They showed a lot of new content at BlizzCon for the coming expansion, but there’s still far more to come. By combining these announcements with what we know so far from datamining and panels, we can get a pretty good picture of what to be excited for when Battle for Azeroth finally drops. Here are the ten things we’re hyped to see in Kul’Tiras, Zandalar, and beyond:

World scaling

The scaling world in World of Warcraft: Legion was limited to the expansion content, but it dynamically changed how we all played the game, especially at launch. Instead of everyone crammed into two starting zones, we were able to spread across the map and take content at the pace and in the order we wanted. The natural follow-up question for most of us was, when are we getting this for the whole world?

Soon. Very soon. And boy, is it needed. Currently, if you level through quests or dungeons or anything, you quickly outpace whatever area you’re in. You’ll miss out on huge story arcs, simply because you have to make a choice halfway through about whether or not you want to see the quests through, or actually level up and get gear. The scaling world will still have limits–no newbies in the Plaguelands, please. But with all previous expansion content getting in on the scaling fun too, leveling should be a far more pleasant and sensible experience for newcomers and veterans alike.
