10 most nostalgic moments from Pokemon Gold and Silver
Whitney’s Miltank
Of course, I had to include Whitney’s Miltank in this list. For many, her Miltank is one of the most memorable aspects of Pokemon Gold and Silver. Against an unprepared (or even a somewhat-prepared) trainer, that Miltank can devastate an entire team with its powerful combination of Rollout, Stomp, and Milk Drink (for healing). Pair that with the Clefairy that came before packing a wallop after landing a Sing attack, and you’re in for a world of hurt.
The other problem is that most people don’t have a good Fighting-type Pokemon by this point in the game. The only way they do is if they captured a Drowzee outside of Goldenrod City and traded it to a man in the Department Store for a Machop. If you know what’s coming, you know to do this, but if you’re still stuck in the world of thinking Normal-types are pushovers, you’ll likely step in there with an under-leveled Bayleaf and a Pidgeotto and think everything is fine and dandy. Good luck against the cutesy, crybaby gym leader Whitney with that strat!
