10 PlayStation games that deserve a Crash N. Sane Trilogy-style remaster
#3. Crash Team Racing
I’m not a huge fan of the Crash Bandicoot franchise as a whole but damn did they get kart racing right in a way few games ever have in Crash Team Racing. Nintendo essentially completely dominates the genre and has for years with their Mario Kart franchise and few if any have ever been serious challengers to the throne. But the original Crash Team Racing for the PlayStation One is one of the strongest challenges to the Kart Racing throne to this day.

The racing mechanics were extremely solid, of course, but one thing Crash Team Racing had that was unique at the time and still mostly is to this day is that it had a real adventure mode with bosses that you had to defeat. The only other kart racing game I can think of that also did was Diddy Kong Racing for the N64, which came out a couple years earlier.
Kart racing games are still far and few between, but I really think there’s an audience out there for ones that aren’t cheap tie-ins to kiddy cartoon shows, so a full remaster of Crash Team Racing with online added really seems like a good way to test that out. It’s kind of criminal in fact that it was the only Crash PlayStation One title not included in the recent remaster of the series. I could’ve been a nice pre-order bonus at least or something. The remaster sold very well so hopefully, the iron is struck while it’s still hot and we get a Crash Team Racing remake in short order.
