#7. Mega Man Legends series

Mega Man is a 2D side-scroller where he captures robots powers and uses them against other robots. That’s the strength of the series. Surely giving him a more open world to run around in wouldn’t work very well, right? Well, I think it worked brilliantly, and I’m certainly not alone. Each entry in the Mega Man Legends franchise seemed to point at this really good series that had the potential to be amazing if it kept going. The first game was pretty good, the second one, a prequel featuring Tron Bonne was better, and the actual sequel was the best one yet.

But a tale we’ve heard many times before, the Mega Man Legends series just did not seem to sell well enough. To the point that while a third game was in development, it never came to fruition. There have been numerous fan campaigns to try and get the third one made, but nothing’s ever come of it.

The best way to get Capcom interested would obviously be if they released they remastered the games and if the public bought them in significant numbers. Capcom has been re-releasing games in HD compilations recently, so I think there is hope that they might release the Legends games as their own compilation or part of bigger Mega Man collection. Hopefully, it happens one way or the other.
