#4. Golden Sun

It’s actually not hard to see why we haven’t seen a new Golden Sun game since 2010. Simply put, the series didn’t sell very well past the first game. And that’s a shame because all three games in the Golden Sun series are really good.

While RPG offerings were high on the DS and 3DS, it’s arguable that the last Nintendo home console with a really strong RPG library was the Super Nintendo. The Nintendo Switch, however, looks to finally be bucking that trend. You have several games from notable RPG series hitting the console in its first year (Disgaea, Fire Emblem, Tales of, Xenoblade, etc.), giving it the feel of a potential RPG powerhouse in a way we haven’t seen a primary Nintendo console in a long time.

What better time then, to bring back an acclaimed series that Nintendo owns and fans have been anxiously awaiting a new entry? Developer Camelot might be better known for their sports games starring Nintendo’s famous plumber these days, but they’ve got a long history of making excellent RPGs, and I’d love to see them take another crack at it, so why not with a new Golden Sun game on the Nintendo Switch?
