#9. Ogre Battle 64: Person Of Lordly Calibur

Remember all the fantastic RPGs you experienced on the NES and the Super NES? Well, unfortunately, the Nintendo 64 is where Nintendo fans who also really liked RPGs got screwed over royally. You could literally count the number of RPGs released for the system on one hand, and only a couple of them were worthwhile. But I feel releases like this should have at least one meaty RPG included, and Ogre Battle 64: Person Of Lordly Calibur sort of just wins by default.

That’s not to say it’s a bad game; far from it, in fact. Ogre Battle 64 is pretty much a master class in turn-based strategy games and in my opinion, the series has always been the less flashy, but actually better game Final Fantasy Tactics has always tried to be. It’s just a shame it gets the slot due to lack of competition when the RPG pedigree on previous Nintendo systems was so strong.
