Convention Tickets

I’m a big fan of gifting experiences as gifts. And what a better experience for a gamer than going to a video game or comic convention! Even though E3 is closed off to the public, there are still numerous awesome gaming conventions around the country that allow you to try new games, watch live eSports, meet your favorite streamers, and just hang out with other people passionate about gaming.

Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) is probably the biggest publicly open convention, holding events in Seattle, Boston, and San Antonio each year. Tickets for one day will run $52.50, just slightly over our budget. IndieCade, held in LA each year, is a smaller convention focusing on indie games and their development with tickets costing between $25-35 a day. While not strictly gaming focused, the San Diego Comic-Con and New York Comic-Con are also great conventions to geek out at, with tickets running about $40-55 per day and $40-50 per day, respectively. If your significant gamer is a Blizzard fan, virtual tickets to watch BlizzCon (along with plenty of in-game goodies) cost $39.99.
