The 15 Best GameCube Games Of All Time
#13 – The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
I assume that many played Twilight Princess on the Wii rather than on the GameCube. The draw of a brand new console with a more polished version of such an enormous step forward for the Legend of Zelda franchise is one we’re experiencing even now, with Breath of the Wild. But aside from visuals, Twilight Princess was hardly diminished in glory on the smaller console. In Link’s quest to free the land from the Twilight Realm and its curses, he explored the biggest Hyrule yet. He trekked through tons of dungeons, all with the excellent puzzling you’d expect from the franchise. He swapped between human and wolf form, each with its own unique abilities. And he unraveled one of the finest storylines the series has ever offered.
There’s a reason Twilight Princess was remade for the Wii U. It’s a game worth experiencing again and again, and a necessary landmark on the path forward for the franchise–which is now building on that foundation and looking better than ever.
