30 – Divinity: Original Sin

Developer: Larian Studios

Initial Release Date: June 30, 2014

Why it’s one of the best RPGs: Divinity: Original Sin is another great title for RPG fans who want to play with a friend, but have no desire to endure the endless draw of an MMO. And A+ to Larian Studios for partially funding the game via KickStarter, and delivering something wonderful! You control either a pair of protagonists (or both you and a friend each control one) whose job it is to hunt down a dangerous magic called the Source and destroy it. They encounter an evil cult, a mysterious goddess, and their own past lives along the way.

It’s a tough game, with a complex turn-based battle system that never holds your hand, but the work you put in to understand and plan your movements is worth it. Divinity: Original Sin represents some of the best of challenging RPGs, and has a wonderful storyline to motivate you to push forward. It’s visually beautiful to boot! A sequel is on its way in December, and we couldn’t be more thrilled.
