10 – Stack

Developer: Ketchapp

Why it’s one of the most relaxing mobile games: Stack’s gameplay is utterly self-explanatory. You stack things. Specifically, nondescript squares that endlessly spawn one after another. You tap when you think the new square is lined up as neatly as possible atop the pile, and whatever overhang there is drops off. The game ends when you eventually don’t have enough square left to stack.

Some might find the pressure to stack perfectly stressful, but the calming visuals and nicely coordinating colors (they change every game, as does the lighting!) help offset that. Aside from recording your best stack height, there’s no pressure to succeed or reward for doing so. It’s just endless stacking of an inconsequential tower. The more you master the game, the more zen your stacks will become. It’s easy to get into a mindless rhythm when playing Stack, making it a great way to unwind after a long day.

Stack is available on the App Store and Google Play.
