Why it’s one of the most relaxing mobile games: This game has “Zen” in its title, so you know it must be pretty laid-back. Zen Koi allows you to play as a colorful koi fish in a little pond, swimming lazily around and eating bits of pond organism to grow and “ascend” into a koi dragon. While you swim, you’ll discover pearls, mate with other koi, and lay eggs with new colors and patterns to eventually fill your collection of different koi dragons.

Zen Koi moves as fast or as slow as you want it to, has a beautiful soundtrack, and a collection you can fill as much or as little as you want as you progress your koi through their phases. It’s one of the few games I can honestly call “meditative,” as it allows you to focus on accomplishing one simple goal at a time with a slow, deliberate pace. Whether I accomplish a lot or a little in a session of Zen Koi, I always feel mentally rested when I close the game.
