5 SNES Games The New Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console Needs
The Super Star Wars Series
With the advent of Star Wars games coming out in the coming years (in no doubt part of Disney’s plans to push the franchise forward with annualized movies and television series’), the New Nintendo 3DS could use a bit of classic Star Wars love. With the release of Super Star Wars, Super Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, and Super Star Wars: Return of the Jedi on PS4, Nintendo deserves its own crack at bringing the franchise back to their handheld.
What were once near impossible action platformers, the recent editions on the PS4 brought a number of new features, including leaderboards, saving options, trophies and support for modern screen resolutions. The 240p size of the New Nintendo 3DS screen, while not perfectly square, would closely reflect an honest resolution support that makes transferring the game over to New Nintendo 3DS simpler.
Nintendo has previously supported the Super Star Wars series with ports, providing them for the Nintendo Wii virtual console back in 2009. Now that Star Wars is on the forefront of pop culture year in and out, now would be a perfect time to spread the classics to as many platforms as possible.
