5 Adventures We Want To See In Hearthstone
By Matt Becker
Karazhan
Karazhan is probably the most fan-requested adventure. Previously known as Medivh’s Tower, Karazhan is the location of one of the end-game raid instances in the World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade. This expansion is another that Hearthstone has only briefly touched upon, hence it consistently being asked for.
Karazhan is arguably one of WoW’s most unusual raids. The large tower is split into several different wings which contain a number of optional bosses and required events. One such event is in the Opera House, in which players encounter a random series of mini-bosses related to well-known fictional characters: The Big Bad Wolf, The Wizard of Oz, and Romeo and Juliet. The other event is the Chess Event, in which players played a sort of chess match against Medivh. These two events are unique to Warcraft and would make for some really interesting Hearthstone adventure mechanics.
A number of cards obtained from Karazhan would probably be Demons, which is a type that was noticeably left out to dry this last expansion and could use some love (help the Warlocks!). The final boss, Prince Malchezaar, would not only make for an awesome legendary card to have, but also give Hearthstone a new tie into the Burning Legion before the new WoW Legion expansion is launched in August.
The Hearthstone development team has shown they can design some really unique and fun encounters in previous adventures and Tavern Brawls. I think Karazhan would be the ultimate challenge for their design skills, and I hope we get a chance to see how they incorporate these unique events into Hearthstone.
