He is considered to be the creator of the universe, watching over Nintendo’s notable characters as they fight each other. Some think Master Hand is meant to represent a child’s hand who plays with the trophies collected throughout the game. In the final boss fight, this right-handed villain uses his massive size to his advantage as he slaps, punches, and throws your character around like a rag doll.
Why He’s One Of The Greatest Video Game Villains: In a game that is primarily focused on multiplayer arena-style fighting matches, Master Hand helps bring the single player mode of Super Smash Bros. to life. His aesthetic fits well into the universe of the game, giving players the feeling they are nothing but toys fighting in someone’s imagination. Even though he is just a hand, he is given an evil laugh that resonates through the arena as his creepy fingers fly across on the screen, flicking your hero around like a little bug.
