10 Things We Want To See In Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild
Chance encounters
Lots of starry-eyed fans are already comparing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild to an Elder Scrolls game, affectionately calling it “Zelder Scrolls” or similar. One of my favorite things about Skyrim, in particular, was the way both quest and regular NPCs would simply pop up while I was traveling and address me, either with information, a quest, or a jovial remark. I’d love to see the roads and wilds of the new Zelda game populated with interesting people, and for “random” encounters to occur as I travel.
Even though the demo was mostly devoid of human life, Nintendo reps clarified that they deliberately removed NPCs and towns so as not to spoil the story. This means that the full game may very well include fellow travelers in Hyrule with information to share. I’d love to be stopped by the running mail carrier as I gallop down the road, or be hailed from a distance by someone in distress asking for help. Chance encounters throughout my adventure would add to Hyrule’s already excellent appearance as an active, living world.
