Link is a talented musician. So far, he’s played an ocarina, a flute, a whistle, Deku pipes, a guitar, and a harp. He’s also been a conductor and a singer, via his howling as a wolf in Twilight Princess. In fact, there hasn’t been a Zelda game yet where Link didn’t play music in some way.

What will the instrument be this time? While wind and string instruments seem to be Link’s favorites, I’d love to see the series shake this up a bit by throwing in something new, like a violin or chimes. That said, both of those might seem uncharacteristic for Link to tote around the wilds with him, and some sort of convenient pipe or horn is more likely, or even the return of whistles from Twilight Princess as a way to summon your horse or other animals. Assuming musical instruments make a comeback, we should expect to learn Saria’s Song and Zelda’s Lullaby for the billionth time.
