15 Hero Wishlist for Heroes Of The Storm

Deckard Cain

Any Diablo players reading this are probably laughing right now. “Deckard Cain in Heroes of the Storm? How would that even work?!” For those of you that don’t know, Deckard Cain is an old scholar who seems to know everything about the ancient Brotherhood of the Horadrim and is not afraid to tell you about it. He is a talkative NPC found in all three of the Diablo games and plays a major part in the storyline, though is never seen in any combat scenarios. Perhaps it would be a bit silly seeing an old man fighting alongside battle-hardened warriors like Thrall or Raynor. However, the developers over at Blizzard have mentioned his name before as a potential addition to the Heroes roster, both at their PAX East 2014 panel and in a Reddit AMA.

The only hero type that I think would fit Cain would be a specialist. Since he is not much of a fighter, most of his abilities would be unique team buffing abilities (but not direct healing) similar to some of Medivh’s abilities. A few potential abilities that immediately come to mind would be a crowd control stun involving his talkative personality as well as an ability to provide your team with increased vision in a given area. Adding Deckard Cain into Heroes of the Storm sounds like a typical Blizzard April Fool’s joke. But the more I think about it, there is a lot of potential for new and fun gameplay mechanics with a specialist hero like him.
