Fandral Staghelm

Each class got a new legendary in Whispers, and the Druid’s is arguably the craziest of all. One of the many staples of the Druid class is the prevalence of “Choose One” cards that offer two effects for you to pick from upon playing the card. For four mana, Fandral Staghelm will let you have both, which results in some *seriously* powerful cards.

I don’t recommend playing Staghelm on curve. Wait until you have a sizable mana pool to work with–easy with Druid due to cards like Innervate and Wild Growth. Hold your enemy at bay until you’ve stocked up both mana and Choose One cards, then let loose. New cards Wisps of the Old Gods and Feral Rage were seemingly made to be played with Staghelm, but he’s also great paired with old favorites such as Nourish, Druid of the Flame (which becomes a single 5/5 minion for three mana!), and Wrath (which does four damage and draws one card for two mana). In a single turn with Staghelm and various mana boosters, I was able to demolish my opponent’s board, stock my own with an arsenal of buffed minions, and buff my hero with enough attack and armor to finish off my opponent handily.

Between Fandral decks and how good C’Thun is with Druids, I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw an awful lot of Druid in the meta going forward.
