6 – Marina

Catchphrase: “blurp”

Why she’s great: Marina is just the sweetest. I didn’t even know the game could have octopus villagers until she moved in, building a pink bubblegum house right by the shoreline, to be closer to her water-bound kindred. Marina loves to invite friends over to her house, then promptly freak out because the place isn’t clean enough (it always is). My mayoral enaction of a green ordinance to remove trash from the waters and cockroaches from houses was met with her delighted approval, likely because of her affinity for everything oceanic.

Marina is generous, apologetic when things go badly, and never blames me when I accidentally bring her a piece of furniture that’s too big for her room. She’s considerate of the other villagers, and never seems to have any awkward moments with any of them. She is complimentary, and loves to play games. Although I question some of her design choices (she loves to wear my hideous shirt experiments and once put flowers in her toilet), Marina is easily one of the best neighbors I could ask for. I’m never letting my eight-legged pink friend move out, no matter what entirely rational excuse she tries to give me.
