9 – Velma

Why she’s great: Most of the “snooty” personality villagers are, well, snooty. They aren’t particularly pleasant to be around, with an inordinate obsession with fashion and being in charge. They tend to be beauty queens, with little regard for you or the other townsfolk. Velma stands out, though. While she is bossy and somewhat self-absorbed, Velma’s excuse is that she’s actually smarter than everyone else. She has an enormous library in her house, enjoy scholarly pursuits, and seems to be based off Velma from Scooby Doo in appearance. Her dream job is to be a lawyer, and she might actually be equipped to do it! You know, provided they start letting pink goats into law school.

Don’t be too put off by Velma’s abrasive personality. Since most of the animals in Animal Crossing are either obsessed with food, sleeping, fashion, or furniture-collecting, Velma is a rare scholar in a city populated by airheads. If you regularly enjoy an intellectual conversation with the goat next door, she may just share her findings on fish or bugs with you sometime.
